Community Guidelines

Our reading group is committed to exploring original texts rooted in classical American Pragmatism as part of an intellectually vibrant and supportive community. We meet approximately every 6-weeks during the academic year.

Attend

We aim to cultivate a community (in the pragmatic sense) of scholars, and therefore expect that members will make an effort to attend regularly.

Prepare

Full texts are distributed alongside meeting invites. It is expected that members will prepare a close reading of the texts prior to our meeting.

Participate

We convene with an acknowledgement of our difference and value the diversity of contributions. It is expected that members will aim to actively participate in discussions.

Contribute

Our community is sustained by the active contributions of our members, who convene sessions on a volunteer basis. It is expected that members will periodically propose texts and offer to convene.
