EGOS 2025 Sub-theme - Update to be shared in the next POS Community meeting, 22 January 2025

Great news -- we have had a strong response to the official Call for Papers for our EGOS 2025 sub-theme"Creatively transforming challenging situations: Insights through pragmatism" (access it here)

More information to follow shortly!

Following on from the very successful sub-theme and related workshop and social events at EGOS 2023, and pioneering work in EGOS 2011, this 2025 sub-theme will build further momentum for established scholars and early-career/PhD researchers alike to creatively explore the affordances of pragmatist thinking. We are delighted that Karen Golden-Biddle joined Line Revsbæk and John Tull as co-convenors, with Karen bringing fantastic energy to what the EGOS review panel saw as a sub-theme likely to attract a large number of excellent, diverse and creative papers, in a highly competitive sub-theme selection process.

Karen, Line and John were pleased to present a series of webinar conversations via Zoom in Oct-Nov. 2024 to support both established and new scholars who might have been considering submission - or just curious about Pragmatism.

The response was very positive.

Around 90 people registered for the events.

The webinar sessions were:

1. October 24, 2024, 16.00-16.45 CET / 10.00-10.45 ET

These events have now been run, but if you wanted more information (three of them have short video recordings of key remarks), contact John Tull (jt3706w@gre.ac.ukfor any or all session(s) and we'll send you some information.

Securing this sub-theme was a great team effort by a formidable 'community of inquiry'  including the contributions by Philippe Lorino, Frithjof Wegener, Anna Rylander Eklund, Katie Beavan, and with tireless steers from Barbara Simpson and Alvin Panjeta.  Thank you to all!
